Paleo is just one of the diets that has recently blown up, causing many to jump on the bandwagon and join the paleo cause. But what is the paleo diet? The Paleolithic diet is a diet that is designed to emulate the diet of wild plants and animals eating by humans during the paleolithic era. Hard core paleos avoid foods that were not available during that time (no cupcakes!?) including dairy, grains, legumes, processed oils, and refined sugars.
So getting back to the roots of things, paleo is a pretty healthy diet and lifestyle to follow, but it takes extreme dedication and time to have a proper paleo diet. Below is a some recipes for our favorite paleo fruit bars, something perfect to eat as a snack!
1 cup raw almonds
1/2 raw pecans
12 medjool dates
1 cup dried cherries (get them from Culinary Farms!)
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1/2 cup finely shredded coconut flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt (get it from Pacific Spice!)
