Welcome back to the second installment of Thirsty Thursday and the drink we chose today looks so delicious, we wish we had the ingredients to make it right now. Since our last blog post was on citrus and how big it is in beverages, we decided to include a citrus flavored drink for this Thirsty Thursday.
The blueberry lemonade is simple to make and pairs well with just about anything. You can make it sweet, tangy, or tart, depending on how you like your lemonade.
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup blueberries
3/4 cup lemon juice
Combine your sugar and one cup of water in a medium sauce pan over medium heat, stir until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in blueberries and bring to a boil. Strain you blueberry sauce and let cool.
In a pitcher, mix together blueberry syrup, lemon juice, and five cups of water and place in the refrigerator until cold. Serve with ice and blueberries.
This drink is great for a family dinner or a gathering with friends. To make it colder you can even chill the blueberries in the freezer before adding them to your drink.
Let us know if you’ve tried this drink or name some of your favorites!
