Hot Pumpkin Buttered Rum from Dine and Dish.

 

Thanksgiving is a week away! Are you prepared for the holiday feast, trust me I’m not! Before finalizing that grocery list and heading to the store, don’t forget to add a great drink for your Thanksgiving guest to sip on while enjoying each others company or watching that annual football game.

If you’re in California you know we are expecting rain for this holiday but others places around the world are experiencing storms and snow, so why not make a drink that will instantly warm you and bring the family a little closer. For Thirsty Thursday we are going to be making a Hot Pumpkin Buttered Rum, perfect for this holiday and perfect for the cold.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice (get it from Pacific Spice!)
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup dark spiced rum
  • 3 cups boiling water

Directions:

In a blend combine your butter, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and pumpkin puree and beat on a medium speed until all your ingredients are mixed together. Next in either a heat proof bowl or pitcher, whisk together your spiced pumpkin butter (the stuff in the blend) and your spiced dark rum. After all the ingredients are mixed together, service in a glass and you’re finished!

This beverage is wonderful for the holidays and will bring warmth to everyone. It pairs perfect for dessert or you can drink it before dinner is served, whatever tickles your fancy. Also it is a fun twist on a Harry Potter Butter Beer, if you’re into Harry Potter.
