Thirsty Thursday: Carrot, Ginger, and Turmeric Smoothie

Welcome back to Thirsty Thursday, we took a little time off around the holidays and focused more on trends and eating healthy but now we are back to bring great drink ideas to your next party or meal.

Since the New Year is in full forced this thirsty Thursday is dedicated to a drink that will help your body with inflammation. Now why would we feature a drink like this? Well first a lot of people have the New Year’s resolution of getting into shape and all that gym work can really do a job on your muscles, this drink will help the inflammation and soreness in your muscles. Second, spices can really benefit your body is a ton of different ways, so throwing them into your morning smoothie is a great idea.

Without further ado here is the carrot, ginger, and turmeric smoothie to help combat inflammation and get your morning started right.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 frozen pineapple
  • 1/2 carrot
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp chia seeds

Directions:

Throw all your ingredients into a blender and blend until the consistency is smooth. Top with chia seeds. That’s it!

This drink is pretty simple and basic and you can switch certain ingredients out for others if you don’t like them. Such as using whatever milk you enjoy and using mango instead of pineapple. The decision is yours.
