Happy September everyone. The arrival of this new month means we are one step closer to getting out of summer and welcoming fall. Since fall is returning that also means we have the delightful fall drinks headed our way from Starbucks, like the Pumpkin Spice Latte. But this year Starbucks wanted to turn it up a notch and add another new fall drink to their menu, the Chile Mocha.
This new drink promises to bring some heat to your average mocha. With the combination of nutmeg, ancho chili, and cayenne, the chile mocha will turn any ordinary day into something a little spicier. Starbucks’ trick to really make this new beverage stand out is to steam the spice blend with the milk, instead of adding it after the milk is steamed. Just like all the other Starbucks’ drinks, they have a special topping to go with this great drink. A mixture of ancho chili, sea salt, cinnamon, paprika, cayenne, and sugar are all combined and sprinkled on top of the whipped cream to give you that extra kick.
Starbucks promises that this drink will not be too sweet or too spicy, so if you like the average hot chocolate but wished it wasn’t as sweet, then this is the drink for you. The Chile Mocha can be served hot or as a frappaccino and will be available September 3 for reward members and September 6 for everyone else.
